Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft is continuing to expand in London, taking its latest partner lateral from the Sydney office of Mallesons Stephen Jaques. Richard Marshall has been a partner at Mallesons since 1984, advising on large projects, with a particular emphasis on the coal industry and natural resources. He also has extensive experience in general corporate advice, M&A, financings, restructurings and equity issues.
Marshall recently advised Glencore International with respect to its bondholder renegotiations for the Anaconda Nickel project in Western Australia, as well as Xstrata in its equity and debt raisings and its acquisition of MIM Holdings.
Cadwalader London managing partner Andrew Wilkinson said: “Richard’s been involved in some of the world’s largest natural resources transactions. His expertise in the mining industry in Australia complements and provides depth to our London office project finance group. His corporate expertise adds diversity to the office’s general corporate practice.”
Marshall is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales as well as in various states and territories in Australia.”
