Mike Stock, formerly of music production trio Stock Aitken & Waterman, is bringing a multi-million pound claim for property damage against London Underground.
Stock, once of the outfit that dominated the music of the 1980s by penning songs for Kylie Minogue and Rick Astley, claims tunnelling work as part of the Jubilee Line extension has compromised the sound insulation of his studio, which stands above the tunnel.
The case could be worth as much as £20m to Stock, who is also suing studio designers Munro Associates for an alleged inadequate design.
The case, which has not yet had its trial date set, is the second against London Underground, adding to the spiralling bill for an extension that currently runs to £2.85bn – the original estimate for the work was £1.9bn.
In November last year, London Underground lost a High Court bid to claim damages against a Canning Town station engineer, Kenchington Ford, and faces a pay out of up to £1m in compensation plus £500,000 costs.
