Dentons powers up nuclear capability

Rupert Cowen and Jonathan Leech will join Dentons imminently. They advised Nuclear Management Partners, a consortium made up of Amec, Areva and Washington International Holdings, on its successful bid to bag the £17bn decommissioning of the Sellafield nuclear site (, 21 July 2008).

Head of energy, transport and infrastructure Christopher McGee-Osborne said: “The world will see significant investment in the nuclear power industry. We’re determined to be a major force in this market. Rupert and Jonathan are major additions to our team, which will be looking for newbuild and decommissioning work worldwide.”

Cowen resigned from Hammonds on 30 September last year at the end of a six-month lock-in at the firm (The Lawyer, 2 October 2009).
