Two of the MPs embroiled in the expenses scandal are barristers practising with the same chambers.
Robert Marshall-Andrews QC, MP for Medway, and Douglas Hogg QC, MP for Sleaford and North Hykeham, are both silks with Carmelite Chambers.
Labour MP Marshall-Andrews claimed expenses on a second home despite having a house just 10 miles from Parliament. He specialises in crime and serious fraud, with notable cases including an alleged £60m fraud from the collapse of the Ciro Citterio menswear chain.
Conservative representative Hogg, who famously claimed for the cleaning of his moat, became the first MP to stand down over the scandal. He has worked on murder, rape, drug importation and serious fraud cases.
Totnes MP Anthony Steen, who was forced to quit after accusing critics of jealousy, is listed as a barrister but no longer practises.
