DLA Piper Rudnick Gray has advised the administrators of Music Zone which has being put into administration after running out of cash.
The Manchester-based office, led by partner Martin Keates and associate Julia Burrows, is advising accountancy firm Deloitte on the administration of Music Zone, which employees more than 1000 staff across 104 stores.
Disappointing Christmas sales are believed to have contributed to a decision by the Bank of Ireland to withdraw its credit facilities.
Keates said: “Obviously Christmas is a key trading period so the sales during that time is crucial.”
Blackburn-based Taylors Solicitors, led by partner Andrew Livesey, advised the directors of Music Zone, which was acquired from Russell Grainger in 2005 by a management team and Lloyds Development Capital, the private equity arm of Lloyds TSB.
