London boutique Joelson Wilson has launched a transatlantic alliance with New Jersey firm Cooper Levenson April Niedelman & Wagenheim to capitalise on growing gambling opportunities in the UK.
The firms are gearing up for the anticipated expansion in casino gaming and internet gaming as a result of the Budd Report.
The report has triggered a review of gaming legislation in the UK, resulting in the introduction of a draft gambling bill that would liberalise gaming legislation.
David Clifton, head of Joelson Wilson’s gaming and licensing team, said: “This alliance will enable existing and new clients of both firms to capitalise on the growing land-based and remote gambling opportunities available in the UK. Our combined expertise will help US, UK and international companies find their way through this changing landscape.”
With 18 fee-earners, Joelson Wilson specialises in the leisure, gaming, food and IT sectors. Cooper Levenson has 60 attorneys across five New Jersey offices in Atlantic City, Cherry Hill, Cape May Court House, Northfield and Princeton.
