Race relations

Ian Titchmarsh, a partner at DWF Solicitors, was presented with a silver salver by Formula 1 legend Jackie Stewart at this year’s British Grand Prix. The reason? Apparently, Titchmarsh has represented various well-known racing drivers and teams in motor sport tribunals and in connection with contractual matters for more than 20 years.

But apparently this wasn’t the reason. Titchmarsh also does a nifty sideline in Murray Walker impersonations and has been the race circuit commentator at the British Grand Prix for 30 years (his first British Grand prix was in 1975).

In the last three decades, Titchmarsh has not only acted for some of the world’s most famous drivers, he’s also had the opportunity to describe their driving to packed Grand Prix crowds, including modern Formula 1 legends Michael Schumacher and Mika Hakkinen, as they whizzed past his commentary box. Tulkinghorn wonders if he also commentates on his tribunals.
