In brief: Trump retires after 33 years in charge

Bill Trump (centre), the senior partner of Bristol-based Trump & Partners, has retired 33 years after taking charge of the firm at the age of 22. His place is being taken by David Simpson (left), who has been with the firm for more than 25 years. At a special reception held for Trump, the retiring senior partner said he was left in charge of the family firm on the death of his father and before he had qualified as a solicitor. But the situation was saved when another local solicitor stepped into the post for eight months until Trump got his practising certificate. Pictured left is the firm's managing partner Robert Moody.
