A long-term incentive plan is available for lawyers up to six years’ PQE, with annual bonuses for those above.

Technical legal training programmes run by each practice group, including three to four-week foundation courses for newly-qualifieds in corporate, finance and dispute resolution. Partners, as well as junior, mid-level and senior associates, can undertake non-legal and management skills training courses of two to three days in length. Skills workshops on specific subjects, such as presentation skills, influencing skills, drafting, negotiation and delegation.

Annual structured appraisal process for associates across the firm, with a half-yearly update. Associates provide upward review of partners and can make their views known to management through internal meetings and online surveys.

Partner progression
Eighty-six per cent of partners trained with the firm, with 80 lateral hires. Youngest partner 28. All join the equity – there are no salaried partners.
