Gowling WLG’s IP strength in Russia and the UK has been distinguished at the 2018 Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) EMEA Awards, which annually recognises the top IP practices in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Gowling WLG was named “Firm of the Year” in the UK: IP Transactions & Advisor and Russia: Contentious categories.

“We feel that our Russian IP strength is unparalleled because we always go that extra mile for our IP clients, whom we hold dear,” said David Aylen, managing partner of Gowling WLG’s Moscow office. “Tonight’s award is a true testament to that.”

Gordon Harris, Gowling WLG’s global co-head of IP said: “These two awards are a testament to the geographical scope and the breadth of service of our IP Team. Our team is being recognised around the world for a wide variety of IP services, from filing and prosecution, through difficult enforcement cases, to highly complex transactions.”

Managing Intellectual Property, one of the most notable IP publications in the world, selects its winners based on a comprehensive firm submission, as well as feedback from peers and independent research.

These wins continue Gowling WLG’s string of recent global IP successes, which include earning multiple listings in the World Intellectual Property Review‘s WIPR Leaders guide and the World Trademark Review‘s WTR 1000 guide, as well as being named UK Patent Contentious Firm of the Year and Russia IP Firm of the Year by MIP.

This year, Gowling WLG is nominated in various categories at the MIP North America Awards as well, which will be announced in New York on March 15.
