Gowling WLG client Hyperoptic has secured an investment of £21m from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to help it provide 1 Gbps fibre broadband to more than half a million homes across the UK.

Gowling WLG’s advisers were led by banking and finance partner Chris Brierley. Principal associate Navin Prabhakar also worked on the deal. They drew on their existing experience on advising borrowers from the EIB and were able to provide commercially-focused advice while understanding the EIB’s requirements.
