Goodman Derrick LLP has hired Dominic Whelan and Tom Pemberton as partners in its Real Estate and Construction sectors.

Dominic Whelan joins the firm from Brecher, the niche real estate boutique, where he was a partner. He specialises in advising developers, investors and asset managers in the UK property market. Dominic joins the transactional team at Goodman Derrick, which now comprises of 10 partners.
Construction specialist Tom Pemberton has joined the firm from Beale & Co where he was a partner in its London construction practice. He joins the existing construction team of two partners and four solicitors. He will bring further expertise in drafting and negotiating development agreements, construction contracts, professional appointments and related agreements, building on his experience of advising on high profile construction and infrastructure projects, and his knowledge of the domestic and international real estate and infrastructure sectors.
Tom joins the construction team at the same time as solicitor James Grinstead, previously at Shoosmiths, who will be working on non-contentious and contentious matters.
