Goodman Derrick lawyers received two nominations at the LawWorks Annual Pro Bono Awards and Lecture which took place on 5 December 2017 at the Law Society.
Five firms received nominations for the best contribution by a firm with a London head office, with Goodman Derrick receiving recognition for the firm’s newly formed Pro Bono programme that has drawn on a historically strong commitment to providing such advice. The firm’s long-standing work on Mr C. King v The Sash Window Workshop Ltd & Richard Dollar was noted, as was the commitment to the Wandsworth Mediation Service, to the Rights of Women telephone advice line and to Shelter’s new Pro Bono programme. Duncan Lewis Solicitors received the award, with other nominations going to Addleshaw Goddard, Berwin Leighton Paisner and Howard Kennedy.
Goodman Derrick trainee Morgan Wolfe also received a nomination in the Junior Lawyers Division for her commitment to increasing staff access to and involvement in Pro Bono at the firm.
