Gibson hires boost DC office

Gibson Dunn & Crutcher has added two new partners to its Washington DC office.

Karen Manos has joined the firm from Howrey, where she was a partner and led the firm’s governments contracts practice. She has experience of government contract issues, including civil and criminal fraud investigations and litigation, bid protests and others.

Barry Goldsmith will join from the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), where he is currently executive vice-president for enforcement. NASD is a private-sector provider of financial regulatory services. Prior to joining NASD in 1996, Goldsmith served as chief litigation counsel at the SEC.

“[Manos’] particular focus on government contract costs and cost accounting issues will complement our Government and Commercial Contracts practice,” said Gibson’s Managing Partner, Ken Doran.

“Securities litigation, securities regulation and enforcement are among our busiest practices,” he continued. “[Doran’s] arrival will bring added expertise and much needed capacity.”
