Lawyers often feel they are on a treadmill during their career but one lawyer is taking it literally at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s Washington DC office.

The National Law Journal reports that arbitration lawyer Alex Wilbraham – a Manchester University graduate who qualified at Lawrence Graham (now Gowling WLG) in the UK – invested $1,500 in the machine in 2012 after suffering from a blocked heart artery and soon made it his primary desk.

He walks 1.8 miles an hour, five days a week.
