Fourth partner quits Cadwalader since summer cuts

Fourth partner quits Cadwalader since summer cutsCadwalader Wickersham & Taft has suffered its fourth partner defection since it was forced to lay off 96 lawyers during the summer.

New York partner Frank Serbaroli has joined Greenberg Traurig’s business practice group and will expand the firm’s healthcare practice in the city.

Greenberg head of healthcare Harold Iselin said: “Frank is a valuable and unique addition to the firm. His arrival marks the expansion of our New York healthcare practice and makes us one of the few firms with attorneys specialising in this area.”

Serbaroli’s departure from Cadwalader comes after The Lawyer revealed that managing partner and former chairman Bob Link was ousted from the management committee by the partnership (17 November).

Other partner defections from the firm include Beijing head Mark Roppel, who joined Allen & Overy in August (26 August), New York-based Andrew Perel, who joined Steptoe & Johnson (2 September), and London partner Jackson Taylor, who joined Latham & Watkins (15 October).
