Property law firm Forsters has acted for Redevco on the redevelopment and pre-letting of the former C&A and Beatties department store site on Corporation Street in Birmingham.

The three pre-lets have a projected end value of £25.5m, with fashion retailer New Look, which has agreed terms to anchor the redevelopment, JJB Sports and Mothercare the new tenants.

DLA Piper real estate partner Val Mather acted for New Look and Mothercare, while Platt & Fishwick partner David Mayes acted for JJB Sports.

Forsters partner Matthew Swainston acted for Redevco alongside construction partner Sarah Cook, who with members of her team dealt with advice regarding procurement and the construction contracts for the redevelopment, which is due to complete by the end of 2007.

Redevco is investing £5.4m in the property, which consists of a total area of around 110,000 sq ft.
