Fire safety act takes effect with none of the proposed safeguards for leaseholders

Following prolonged parliamentary ping-pong in relation to the Fire Safety Bill, with proposed amendments bouncing back and forth between the House of Commons and the House of Lords, the Bill was given Royal Assent yesterday, with no amendments. None of the proposed provisions to protect leaseholders from the costs of the remediation works have been included.

Amendments to the Croatian Competition Act

Amendments to the Croatian Competition Act entered into force on 24 April 2021. One of the main goals of the Act was to transpose Directive (EU) 2019/1 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 December 2018 to make the competition authorities of the Member States more effective enforcers and to ensure the proper functioning of the internal market into Croatian law.
