Australian firm Blake Dawson Waldron has shed more than 50 partners in two years as the A$300m (£128m)-turnover firm tries to boost profitability on the back of the restructuring.
Blake Dawson, which recently closed its London office, is expecting to downsize its senior management structure and delegate more authority to department heads. The firm has four executive partners and three executive directors, with the review findings to be implemented in February.
Managing partner John Atkin said Blake Dawson had “sharpened its practice focus”, tightened its global focus to the Asia-Pacific region and shed high-volume work.
“We’ve implemented a more rigorous partner performance evaluation system,” he said. “The commitment to performance we require isn’t for everyone and some people have left.”
