LATHAM & Watkins partner Rindala Beydoun has moved back to the Dubai office of her former firm Vinson & Elkins after less than a year, having been stripped of the Latham Middle East managing partner role.

Jeff Eldredge, international coordinator for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Vinson, described Beydoun as “a high-calibre, trilingual M&A lawyer” and said her role will be similar to before.

A corporate and commercial partner, Beydoun was recruited by Latham when it launched in the region in February 2008 and was initially office managing partner for Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha.

She was replaced in that role at the end of last year by former London corporate chair Bryant Edwards (The Lawyer, 1 December 2008). At the time Latham executive committee member Bill Voge cited the firm’s preference for “the seasoned guy” to fill that position.
