Peter Crisp, the former dean and CEO of BPP Law School, has been appointed as the new Pro Vice Chancellor (External) at the University of Law.
Crisp will take up his post 2 January 2018 and will be responsible for leading the University’s business development and client relationship teams.
The hire is a coup for ULaw. Crisp had been at BPP for 20 years, serving as dean and CEO of of its law school from 2003 until earlier this year. During his stint there he ushered it through its purchase by Apollo Education in 2009 and elevation to university status in 2013.
Over the course of that time, BPP and ULaw emerged as the two major providers of postgraduate legal education, with others, including Oxford Brookes and third-largest provider Kaplan, falling by the wayside.
Crisp said: “This is a very exciting time for me to join ULaw, and I am very much looking forward to embracing the opportunities of the role as the University continues to go from strength to strength.
“I am pleased to be beginning this new chapter in my career, and I hope to make a valuable contribution to the University’s continued growth and success.”
