Below you’ll find answers to the questions we get asked the most about entering The Lawyer Awards.
The Lawyer Awards have categories that are relevant to private practice firms, in-house teams, technology solution providers and the Bar.
The Awards are open to global organisations, but most categories relate to legal work carried out in the courts of England and Wales.
There are plenty of categories to choose from; please see the criteria to determine which category is correct for you and do not hesitate to get in touch if you need some help deciding which category is the right one for you.
Each entry into the Awards costs £150 + VAT. Payment should be made via credit card through the secure online portal when you complete your entry; if the total of your entries exceeds £600 you may request an invoice instead on the basket page of the online portal.
Should we be able to hold an in-person Awards ceremony later this year, we will ensure any entry fees paid are discounted off any ticket purchases.
You can see a full list of award categories, definitions and criteria here and can also download the category-specific entry form from the same page.
All entries are submitted online through our entry portal; all information should be entered directly into the portal and should adhere to the word limits outlined for each section.
Each category requires slightly different information, so be sure to check the specific page for your chosen category before submitting.
You can log-in and -out of the entry portal as many times as you like once you have started your submission, including to view the online entry form itself, so if necessary you can prepare content “offline” and share with clients and other third parties in order to secure the relevant permissions.
You may also upload to the portal graphics, charts and other files to illustrate your entry and aid the judges in their evaluations.
Do make sure you also read through the rules of entry carefully before you register and submit
For entries to the 2021 Awards, work must cover APRIL 2020 TO PRESENT DAY.
We appreciate that some work will last longer than one year, therefore submissions should be able to demonstrate that the bulk of work was carried out during this time period.
No – you can enter as many categories as you wish, as long your firm, team, chosen case or deal relates to the criteria for each category. For transactional categories only, firms may enter more than one deal into the same category.
Please note that any information marked as confidential on any entry materials will be treated as for judges’ eyes only and will not be published.
For ease, we’ve also included a CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION box on the form itself which you can populate with sensitive details as needed.
Each entry form has its own word count limits by section. Please check the category page for more information by category.
No, once you have entered your details into the online entry system you will receive an email with a link to return to your registration where you can log in and finish your entry at a later date. Please note it is not possible to amend submitted entries.
We recommend that you set-up your entry account as per the above as soon as possible, so you can review the relevant form(s) and complete each section offline (including collecting the relevant approvals), before returning to copy and paste into the portal.
Please make sure you submit your entry by the entry deadline.
The deadline extension for entries is midnight on Friday 9th July 2021.
The finalists for The Lawyer Awards 2021 will be announced in September 2021.
