Dechert has made its second round of layoffs this month, shedding 10 staff lawyers.

The US firm has culled one ninth of its US staff attorney workforce due to insufficient workflows.

The move comes after The Lawyer reported that Dechert laid off 19 lawyers in the US due to a reduction in demand for legal services (12 Feb 2009).

A spokesperson at Dechert said: “Dechert has made 10 staff attorney layoffs today related to insufficient work levels. A separation package has been provided.”

The firm declined to comment on details on the severance package for the attorneys.
