Ashurst Morris Crisp (Jeremy Hill) advised motor insurer Ockham Holdings on its announced placing and open offer to raise £25m. Ashursts (Ian Webb) also advised Numis Securities, the organisation underwriting the placing. The offer is on the basis of 17 new Ockham shares for every 30 existing shares and has to be approved by shareholders.

Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton (Ashar Qureshi) advised KPNQwest on its e645m (£399.2m) acquisition of a large proportion of London-based telecoms company Global TeleSystems' business. Shearman & Sterling (Andrew Tenzer) advised Global TeleSystems.
