HB Public Law – the shared legal service of a number of borough and county councils – has recruited five new trainees after a break of some years without a training scheme.
The organisation was originally set up in 2012 through the merger of Harrow and Barnet councils’ legal services, in a move to save costs. Since then it has expanded to also include Hounslow, Aylesbury and Buckinghamshire councils.
Head of Legal Practice Jessica Farmer, said: “We are delighted to be in a position to start taking trainees again. Due to our volumes of work, we plan to have an intake at least every two years now.”
“We had many bright, keen and enthusiastic applicants and are delighted with the individuals who have been successful. I hope they will really enjoy their training contracts with us and gain a thorough grounding in all the key aspects of Local Authority legal work.”
