Collyer Bristow has advised the owners of London’s largest independent decorators’ merchant, Leyland SDM, on its £82.4m sale to Grafton Group plc, the international DIY and building merchants.
Leyland SDM has 21 stores in some of London’s most prominent locations such as King’s Road Chelsea, High Street Kensington, Shaftesbury Avenue, Victoria, Clerkenwell, and Notting Hill.
Founded in 1985, family-owned Leyland SDM has grown from just a single store to become one of London’s most trusted decorating brands.
In the last two years, Leyland SDM has expanded its footprint with four new stores opened in Battersea, Mile End, Clapham High Street and Putney as well as opening a new Distribution Centre at Wembley.
Grafton Group plc operates over 600 branches across the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and Belgium. It operates brands including Selco Builder’s Warehouse and Plumbase, the plumbing and heating merchant.
