Dawsons has lost a partner and two lawyers to the London office of North-West firm Cobbetts, it was announced today.
Harender Branch joins Cobbetts after eight years at Dawsons, including five as a partner in the firm’s corporate team.
The news follows confirmation that Dawsons is in advanced merger talks with Penningtons (The Lawyer,14 March). The firm has lost a number of partners and junior lawyers in recent months, including two corporate partners who have joined Boodle Hatfield.
Cobbetts’ head of corporate Sean Fitzgerald said Branch’s appointment demonstrated the firm’s continued commitment to its London office.
