CMS has released its retention rate for its 2020 newly-qualified (NQ) cohort.

The firm is keeping on 44 of 61 qualifying trainees as NQs, a retention rate of 72 per cent. A total of 46 offers were made.

Thirty-two of the 2020 NQs are based in the London office, with four in Glasgow, four in Aberdeen, three in Sheffield and one in Edinburgh.

The firm has confirmed that its NQ salary remains the same and there have been no deferrals to either qualification or training contracts.

CMS is the third firm to release its retention results after Sidley Austin and Mills & Reeve, and the first firm with a sizeable trainee cohort to do so.
