CMS has increased its salaries for trainees in Bristol and Scotland.
First seat trainees in the firm’s Bristol office will now take home £37,000, up from £32,000, while second-years will get £39,000 – up from £34,000.
Trainee and newly qualified solicitor salaries
Newly-qualified lawyers in the city get a boost from £47,800 to £49,000. The firm first took on Bristol trainees in 2009.
North of the border, first-year CMS trainees in Scotland get a raise from £22,500 to £24,000, though the salary for second years stays at £26,000. Newly-qualifieds will be paid £39,000, up from £38,000.
At the firm’s other offices, trainee and NQ salaries have not gone up.
London trainees start on £40,000, rising to £45,000 in the second year and £67,500 on qualification.
Manchester’s begin on £27,000, rising to £29,000 and then £40,000.
And in Sheffield, trainees start on £26,000, rising to £29,000 and then £40,000 when they reach qualification.
