Clyde & Co has taken on Denton Wilde Sapte (DWS) former Muscat managing partner Andrew Watson as a partner in its Abu Dhabi office.

Watson’s appointment brings Clydes’ offering in the Middle East to 15 partners. The corporate and finance partner was based in the Sultanate of Oman as DWS’ Muscat managing partner until 2006.

Niall O’Toole, Clydes’ Abu Dhabi chief, said: “Andrew is a great addition to our expanding team in Abu Dhabi. He’s no stranger to the region and his experience in such matters as the Omantel IPO helps to increase our strength and depth in what is a fast growing market.“

Watson’s hire comes as Clydes also snapped up DLA Piper associate Andrew Foster for its London insolvency practice. Foster was involved in advising the liquidators of the Allders group of companies on various issues and assisting the administrators of a sub prime lender on a major fraud investigation.
