Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton has revealed one of its smallest-ever partnership promotions rounds, with three made up globally.

The US firm has promoted M&A specialist Nallini Puri in London, who joined Cleary from legacy Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co in India.

The other new members are litigation partner Abena Mainoo and regulatory partner Hugh Conroy in New York.

The trio form part of one of Cleary’s smallest-ever promotions rounds to date. Last year the firm promoted one City lawyer out of eight worldwide. No City lawyers were made up in 2015 and 2014 in global rounds of seven and eight respectively.

Ten additional lawyers have been made counsel. These include two in London, three in New York and two in Washington DC.

Paris has been joined by two new counsel in litigation and corporate, with one lawyer promoted in Brussels.

US promotions season is now in full swing – White & Case revealed its partner promotions in October, closely followed by Ropes & Gray.
