Clayton Utz appoints new chief executive

Clayton Utz’s board has appointed litigation partner Robert Cutler to succeed Darryl McDonough as the firm’s next chief executive partner.

Based in Sydney, Cutler’s appointment will take effect from 1 July 2014. He joined Clayton Utzin 1991 and became a partner in 1998. He served as partner in charge of the Canberra office from 2000 to 2004.

McDonough, who will step down from the management role after a four-year term, will remain a fee-earning partner at the firm. His practice focuses on corporate, M&A transactions and competition law.
