Beiten overhauls management committee

Beiten Burkhardt has re-elected Frank Obermann as the firm’s managing partner and has expanded its management committee by two partners, representing the firm’s growth.

The German firm announced today that its 52 partners have elected a new management committee at its annual partner meeting. The new committee, which will serve for a term of three years, will consist of the committee’s three existing members, Berlin-based managing partner Frank Obermann and Munich-based partners Hans-Peter Mechlem and Jack Schiffer.

The committee’s new members are Frankfurt partner Heinrich Meyer and Nuremberg-based partner Berthold Mitrenga.

Obermann said in a statement: “Both the personnel growth by around 100 new lawyers and the increase in revenues of about 40 per cent over the last two years have made it necessary to share the responsibilities of the management committee more widely.”

Last month (February) the firm announced its decision to integrate its Cologne and Düsseldorf offices into one, after a strategic review of its German offices, where the firm’s partners concluded that Düsseldorf is a city offering the most long-term growth potential.
