Baker & McKenzie private banking partner Jonathan Burt has joined Barclays Wealth as a senior wealth adviser.
Burt will join the offshore and private banking arm of the financial service powerhouse in January 2008. The former Bakers’ partner was based in the City office for seven years where he focused on private banking.
Barclays has created a new position for Burt. He will be based in London and will work in estate planning and trusts as well as with the bank’s risk and structuring teams.
Barclays’ head of the wealth advisory business Jeremy Arnold said: “Burt’s appointment is central to the development of Barclays’ wealth advisory business. The business was established last year from the Barclays existing wealth structuring and trust and estates businesses.”
