Ashurst will retain 95 per cent of its qualifying trainees this September.

The firm had 20 trainees reaching qualification, and offered newly-qualified positions to 19, with all accepting.

Thirteen of the 19 will take up positions in the firm’s corporate division, with three joingin the finance practice and another three going to the disputes group.

Graduate recruitment partner Nick Wong said: “We are extremely pleased with the results of the qualification round. Attracting, developing and retaining the best people is critical to the success of our business and we are confident that these talented young lawyers will make a significant contribution to Ashurst over the course of their careers.”

It is the firm’s best retention figure since spring 2014, when the firm held onto 96 per cent of its qualifiers.
