Allen & Overy has appointed a new managing partner in its Amsterdam office, following the transfer of former managing partner Cees Vellekoop to the the firm’s corporate department in Tokyo.
Peter Eijsvoogel took over as Vellekoop’s replacement in Amsterdam at the beginning of April.
Vellekoop has been managing partner of the office since its merger with a substantial part of Benelux firm Loeff Claeys Verbeke in 2000. He was also Loeff Claeys’ resident partner in Tokyo for three years, and worked in the region for a total of five.
Nigel Pleming QC is stepping down as head of 39 Essex Street Chambers after three years, to be replaced by Richard Davies QC and Richard Wilmot-Smith QC.
