Angus Moon QC and Aaron Rathmell acted for the Chief Constable in successfully persuading the Employment Tribunal to make a very unusual costs award of £15,000 against the Claimant in this long running employment litigation. The order was made against the Claimant on 15th January long-running basis that she never had a reasonable prospect of succeeding in her sex discrimination or sexual harassment claims. Angus and Aaron appeared for the Chief Constable in the lengthy trial in 2016 and Ms Aubrey unsuccessfully appealed in 2017 against the Employment Tribunal’s 90-page judgment, which rejected allegations of sex discrimination, harassment, victimisation, disability discrimination, whistleblowing and unfair dismissal.  The case gave rise to widespread publicity.
