Andriy Nikiforov, Counsel and Head of Banking & Finance at Kinstellar Kyiv, has been elected as Head of the Banking, Finance and Insurance Committee of the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA). The UBA Board announced the appointment on 19 December 2017, following the results of e-voting held among members of the association.

Andriy Nikiforov will run the Committee’s activities in 2018–2019. Andriy comments on his appointment: “The UBA is the most influential and dynamic organisation of legal practitioners in Ukraine. I am honoured to head the Banking, Finance and Insurance Committee of the UBA. Under my guidance, the Committee’s activities will focus on the enhancement of legislation with a view to protecting creditors’ and investors’ rights in Ukraine, facilitating the financing of infrastructure and other projects, and increasing state financial support for Ukrainian exports. The committee shall be a platform for the active interaction between committee members, state bodies and other experts in the finance market.”

Andriy has been a practicing lawyer since 2003 and has broad experience in the areas of finance, capital markets, debt restructurings, financial services and M&A. Andriy is recommended in Ukraine for banking, finance and capital markets by Legal 500 2017 and IFLR1000 2018.

The Ukrainian Bar Association is an all-Ukrainian public organisation founded in 2002. At present, the UBA has over six thousand members, including private legal practitioners, in-house legal counsel, notaries, judges, public officials, MPs as well as renowned legal scholars. There are currently 23 acting UBA committees tasked with the further development of the legal profession in Ukraine, improving legislation, building relationships with public authorities and contributing to public reforms.
