US clothing company American Apparel has chosen Loeb & Loeb partner Chelsea Grayson as its new general counsel, effective 15 December.
Former corporate partner Grayson has worked for 15 years in private practice, with experience in private placements of equity and debt securities for public and private companies, joint ventures and strategic alliances, and mergers and acquisitions for clients in a variety of industries, including retail.
She joined Los Angeles firm Loeb & Loeb in 2011, having previously been a partner at Jones Day.
Grayson replaces interim general counsel Tobias Keller, who has filled the role since June 2014. It is understood that he will continue to work as general counsel until Grayson’s start next month.
Keller replaced Glenn Weinman, who stepped down as general counsel in May. Weinman was originally appointed in 2009, and took on the additional role of vice president of real estate from 2012 to 2014.
