Addleshaws adds muscle to real estate with BLP swoop

Addleshaw Goddard has moved to bolster its real estate capability as the firm tries to capitalise on the booming market, poaching a Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) senior associate as a partner.

Addleshaws has taken real estate finance lawyer James Salford, who will be based in the firm’s London office.

Addleshaws finance and projects division head Nigel West said: “We’re developing critical mass and enhancing our capability in real estate finance… to position ourselves in the group of firms immediately behind the magic circle.”

Addleshaws is targeting the banks for real estate finance, with which Salford brings strong links from his BLP years.

His arrival brings Addleshaws’ finance and projects division to 37 partners, 17 of whom are London-based, with a further 106 other lawyers.
