‘You’re hired’, Apprentice makers tell new legal and business head

The television company responsible for hit show The Apprentice has hired Jacqueline Moreton as its head of legal and business affairs from the UK arm of US media company CBS Paramount.

Moreton will oversee the day-to-day legal affairs of talkbackTHAMES, which produces popular TV shows such as The X Factor, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Grand Designs. She will report to talkbackTHAMES chief operations officer Sara Geater.

Geater said: “Moreton brings with her a wealth of commercial experience from both the UK and the US, which will be invaluable to talkbackTHAMES as we continue to expand the businesses through new label deals and partnerships.”

At ;CBS ;Paramount Moreton specialised in international licensing deals. Before that she spent time at Viacom as legal head of the corporate division and at Robert Redford’s pay-per-view TV channel Sundance ;Channel ;as general ;counsel. ;She replaces former talkbackTHAMES legal head Colin Miller. TalkbackTHAMES is the UK production arm of FremantleMedia, which in turn is the production division of RTL Group. The group is Europe’s largest independent broadcasting company, operating 34 television channels in 11 countries.
