Yahoo! Music hunts for new legal chief

Online music company Yahoo! Music is on the lookout for a new legal director for its European operations following the promotion of its previous legal head Ventura Barba.
Barba, who has been promoted to the post of European general manager of Yahoo! Music, is replacing Shannon Ferguson, who has been promoted to general manager of Yahoo! Entertainment Europe, which includes Yahoo! Music.
The new incumbent will be based in London and will report directly to Yahoo! Music’s vice-president and associate general counsel in Santa Monica, California.
The role will involve ensuring that Yahoo! secures the appropriate rights to support its online music-related businesses, including PC and wireless devices. The job also involves managing legislative initiatives and responding to domestic and international copyright legislation changes.
