This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Following the appointment of a new head of legal, WS Atkins, the largest multi-disciplinary consultancy and services company in the UK, is in the throes of establishing its first ever legal panel.
Anne Randall, who is conducting the review, is now head of legal following an internal promotion. Firms that have advised WS Atkins in the past include niche construction firm Shadbolt & Co and Clyde & Co.
Newcastle-based Watson Burton told The Lawyer that it had been appointed to the panel, but Randall denied this, saying that no firm had yet been appointed because the review was still ongoing.
However, a Watson Burton press release quoted a WS Atkins legal adviser saying: "We've been impressed with the firm's ability to pick up and run with a range of litigation issues. The Watson Burton team are serious players who offer excellent advice and work well as an extension of our expert legal teams."
