Rachel Wright has been at Lewis Silkin for less than two years, but has already stamped her mark on a firm known for its employment expertise.
Much of 2004 was taken up advising former banker Stephanie Villalba in her £7.5m discrimination claim against Merrill Lynch. Lewis Silkin joint head of employment James Davies was nominally leading the team, but Wright undertook most of the groundwork.
The case attracted much media attention and Wright regularly ran a press gauntlet. The high profile will stand her in good stead as this four year-qualified develops the discrimination and contentious side of her broad-based practice.
With her other clients including a large accountancy firm, and work crossing all areas of employment law, Wright’s future is very bright.
