Birmingham firm Wragge & Co has been shortlisted to join a team of businesses that will create an online property register.The National Land Information Service (NLIS) is being set up by the Lord Chancellor's Department (LCD) to make conveyancing information more accessible.Wragges is understood to be the only law firm on the shortlist. The final consortium of advisers to the LCD should be decided by April. The launch of the NLIS is planned for the summer.The NLIS will access data held by the Land Registry, local authorities and other bodies, including information on planning issues and schools.A spokesman for Wragges says: "The objective is to become the first choice one-stop shop for exchanging search information between data providers and end users."
