Wragges' ups the firm's real estate profile
Wragges' decision to focus on real estate in this year's partnership promotions is indicative that the firm is certainly putting its money where its mouth is.
The firm launched a glossy marketing campaign last year entitled "Surprisingly Big in Real Estate", which involves everything from branded freebies, to adverts in west-end tube stations, as well as a significant presence at real estate extravaganza Mipim.
The initiative is intended to up the firm's real estate profile and in a similar vein Wragges is increasing the number of partners in its real estate practice by four. Senior partner Quentin Poole considers this to be a more sensible approach to market uncertainty than slash and burn.
But it is also suggestive that if the firm wishes to be a national heavyweight in the real estate sector growth at the senior level is best established organically. Many lawyers would rather sit tight than move about in such uncertain conditions.
Across the board things are looking good at Wragges with a jump from two internal promotions last year to nine this year.
