Wragges promotes eight to director

Wragge & Co has promoted eight associates to the role of director, bringing the total number in the job to 27.

The director role was introduced at the firm in 2005 to reward associates with an exceptional level of experience and skill.

Senior partner Quentin Poole said: “Each of the eight new directors has demonstrated their dedication to providing clients with the best creative, commercial legal advice.”

The director role is considered as a stepping stone for associates who want to make it to partner, although not every director automatically will.

Directors’ responsibilities can range from managing client relationships and business development to leading a particular practice area in some cases.

Recently Wragges also enhanced its flexible-working package to enable staff to take time off during the day to meet commitments outside of work.

This year turnover at the Birmingham-based firm increased by 11.5 per cent to £125.5m. The firm announced earlier this year that it will move into new office premises in Birmingham, with the move scheduled for 2011.
