Wragge & Co has hired Manches’ Thames Valley projects head as a partner in its real estate team.
Giles Clifford, who joined Manches as an associate from Freshfields in 2002, will join Wragges as a partner in its 17-lawyer planning and regeneration team on 1 May.
Clifford has advised on more than 40 PFI and PPP projects. He acted for London Underground and Transport for London on the redevelopment of New London Bridge House and acts for London Underground Limited on the Thameslink Upgrade scheme.
Clifford’s hire follows that of SJ Berwin planning partner Duncan Field, who joins later this month.
In a statement, Wragges senior partner Quentin Poole said: “Giles is a talented individual. A real estate lawyer who leads on major projects, he brings a track record of advising on complex developments, particularly involving transport, housing and renewables. His considerable knowledge and strong connections will help us win new business, while also boosting our City presence and practice.”
Earlier this year, Wragges made up three partners, ending its one-year promotions drought (6 March 2012).
