Would-be Bar students lose CLE battle

Four students rejected from Bar School have lost their legal battle against the Council for Legal Education's selection process. They brought judicial review proceedings against the CLE on the grounds that the selection process was flawed because it failed to take into account degree results and post-graduate qualifications. A CLE spokesman said after the hearing: "We are pleased the court appreciated the seriousness with which the CLE approached the invidious task of selecting the students and had devoted an enormous amount of time and care to the problem."
