What was your first ever job? Checkout girl at Safeway.
What was your worst experience as a trainee? On a dawn raid in Blackpool, asking my Jewish principal if he wanted his usual bacon sandwich in front of his Jewish client and friend.
Where’s the best place to go if you want to find out what’s really going on in the office? The IT department.
What time do you usually leave the office? 8pm – but I can’t seem to get there very early.
What do you do at weekends? Sleep, talk and eat a lot with friends – much the same as my worklife really; also hibernation in Wales to avoid children’s parties.
What’s your favourite restaurant? Anywhere to avoid my own cooking, which is inedible. Otherwise The Restaurant in Manchester, The Lime Tree in Didsbury and The White House in Prestbury. As you can see I have a love-love relationship with food.
If you weren’t a lawyer, what would you have been? Travel agent.
Who was your mentor or role model? I’d have to say Rodger Pannone.
What’s the best thing about your job? Getting to make most of the decisions.
What’s the toughest thing about your job? Being responsible for most of the decisions.
What has been your proudest professional moment? Number six in The Sunday Times’ Top 100 Places To Work – it’s been fantastic PR, but every client complaint now starts with, ‘I would have thought any firm in The Sunday Times’ Top 100…’
What’s your biggest work/career mistake and what did you learn from it? Not drinking alcohol, as evening events can be very dull without it.
What car(s) do you drive? Mercedes CLK 320 with adjustable corners.
What book are you currently reading? Only get to read on holiday and nothing highbrow – Man and Wife by Tony Parsons most recently.
What’s on your CD player at the moment? Seal, George Michael and Daniel Bedingfield for me, OutKast and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers for my sons.
What’s your favourite children’s book? Swallows and Amazons.
